Prashanth Madal is an Indian civil servant of Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) who is deputed as the chief accountant in Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) (as of 2023). He is the son of BJP MLA Maadal Virupakshappa.
In March 2023, he was arrested following a raid at the state-owned Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL) office by Karnataka Lokayukta, where he was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 40 lakhs for allotment of tender for providing raw materials to the Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited.

Prashanth Madal, also spelt as Prashanth Maadal, was born on 9 August in Channagiri, Davanagere, Karnataka. His zodiac sign is Leo. He attended the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, to pursue his graduation.
After clearing the examination conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), Madal became a Karnataka Administrative service officer of the 2008 batch.

Prashanth Madal’s father, Madal Virupakshappa, is an MLA from Channagiri in the Davanagere district of Karnataka.
Virupakshappa, who was earlier serving as the chairman of the Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL) (a company that makes the popular Mysore Sandal Soap), resigned from his post on 3 March 2023 after his son was arrested by the Karnataka Lokayukta for accepting Rs 40 lakh bribe in connection with a tender process of Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited.
Prashanth Madal’s mother is a homemaker. Prashanth Madal got married on 20 February 2013. He has a son named Pruthvi Madal and a daughter named Chaitanya Madal.
Prashanth Madal is associated with Anubhava Mantapa and follows Lingayatism. Anubhava Mantapa, the first religious parliament in the world was established in the 12th century C.E. by Basavanna. It is located at Basavakalyan in the Bidar district of Karnataka.

After completing his graduation, Prashanth started working at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. He worked there for a while and then resigned from his position. Prashanth began working for the government of Karnataka in June 2012. Soon, he started working as the deputy accounts officer of the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KIRDL).
As of 2023, he is working as the chief accountant in Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB). Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board won the international award ‘The Golden Award for Quality and Business Prestige’ in 2019 at the Quality Summit held in Rome city, Italy, which was received by Board Financial Advisor Chief Accountant Prashanth Mandal.
Prashanth is also working as the Joint Controller at KSAD Ministry of Finance, Government of Karnataka.
